#1 The Origins of ESSU and My Passion for Candles

In this article, I'd like to share what inspired us to launch the wellness brand "ESSU" and our passion for aroma candles.
ESSU is operated by two women who were formerly flight attendants.
Living between Japan and other countries, with irregular schedules, jet lag, and the pressure of a demanding environment, left us physically and mentally exhausted.
In an environment where we were constantly expected to be professional and smiling, and while we enjoyed meeting new people, our own minds and bodies were always an afterthought.
Even while telling ourselves "it's okay," we sometimes felt overwhelmed by premenstrual mood swings, emotional instability, and fatigue.
What came to our rescue during those times were aroma candles.
The moments enveloped in fragrance, and the space illuminated by a gentle flickering light. Those small moments helped us reset our minds and gave us the strength to move forward.
From then on, we truly realized the importance of "self-care" that attends to our changing minds and bodies.
The Importance of Self-Reflection
We wanted to create something that could support hardworking women with sensitive sensibilities, just like us.
That's how ESSU was born.
ESSU aroma candles are made exclusively from plant-derived soy wax and natural essential oils. We are committed to using gentle materials that are kind to the mind and body, without relying on synthetic fragrances.
Furthermore, we blend fragrances that cater to PMS and hormonal fluctuations, delivering candles specialized in self-care for women.
The fluctuations in a woman's mind and body, such as PMS, stress, and autonomic nervous system imbalances, are very delicate.
Yet, for women who live forward-looking lives, pursuing work, romance, and self-improvement, we want to provide a time of "balance" through scent and light.
That is the world ESSU aims to create.
